2017 Contributors

Alexis MacNeil is currently an MA candidate in the Literatures of Modernity program at Ryerson University. Having spent half of her undergrad in the Media Studies program at Guelph-Humber University and the other half in the English Literature and Contemporary Culture program at Brock University, she is well versed in digital publishing. Her main interests lie within Victorian literature, adaptation theory, and the ways in which the digital era engages with the canonical works of the past. While currently working on a project dealing with the modernization of Penny Dreadfuls, she also hopes to gain publishing experience during her Practicum.

Mark Sardella is a student in the Literatures of Modernity program at Ryerson University. He has a BA in Professional Writing and Institutional Communications from York University. His research interests include nineteenth-century history and literature, periodical studies, and consumer culture studies. Currently, he is especially interested in doing more research on fin-de-siècle caricatures and celebrity interviews.

Polina Vinogradova is an MA candidate in the Literatures of Modernity program at Ryerson University. Her research interests include Victorian literature and culture, immersive virtual environment technology platforms, 19th century periodical studies, and narrativity in digital games. As a research assistant at the Centre for Digital Humanities, she creates XML-encoded documents of The Evergreen: A Northern Seasonal for The Yellow Nineties Online.

Danielle Waite is a student and research assistant in the Literatures of Modernity M.A. English program at Ryerson University. Danielle went to Ryerson for her undergrad, where she obtained a B.A in English with a minor in Psychology. Her nineteenth-century interests include pantomime and modern visual arts ranging from Art Nouveau to Fantastic Realism.
